Reflective Vest

Safety reflective vests are essential for workers in various industries, including the uniform industry, where employees may need to work in low-light conditions or near moving vehicles. High visibility uniforms and vests come in various reflective and fluorescent bright colors for use during the day and at night. It is vital to choose the appropriate high vis clothing that best suits the job environment and conditions. The visibility of a reflective vest depends on several factors, including the design of the vest, the quality of the reflective materials used, and the surrounding environmental conditions. Some key factors that influence the visibility of reflective vests are Reflective Material Quality, Color Contrast, Coverage and Placement, Lighting Conditions, Maintenance and Cleanliness, Distance and Viewing Angle. Overall, while reflective vests significantly enhance visibility and safety in low-light conditions, their effectiveness can vary based on design, quality, maintenance, and environmental factors. Choosing a high-quality vest with ample reflective coverage and maintaining it properly can maximize its visibility and ensure optimal safety benefits.

The ANSI Standards are broken down into three specific classes, numbered one through three. Each class describes which types of high vis safety apparel should be worn based on the type of job or work environment. For instance, Class 1 is appropriate for parking lot attendants, while Class 2 is for waste management workers. Class 3 is for the most dangerous types of jobs requiring the highest level of visibility, such as utility workers and road construction workers.

“Type O” apparel is easy. It only comes in one “Class”–“Class 1”. So any compliant “Type O” apparel, like a vest, will also be “Class 1”.

ANSI Class 2 apparel is for workers who are on roadways with traffic up to 50 mph. In this application, the high visibility apparel would be “Type R, Class 2”.

ANSI Class 3 apparel is for workers who are on roadways with traffic over 50 mph and/or where there is inclement weather that limits visibility. So in this application, the high visibility apparel would be “Type R, Class 3”.

Our Collection

High-Visibility Material: Safety reflective vests are typically made from fluorescent materials such as neon yellow, orange, or lime green, which enhance visibility in daylight or low-light conditions. These colors are easily distinguishable, especially against contrasting backgrounds.

Reflective Strips: Reflective strips or tapes are strategically placed on the vest to reflect light from sources such as vehicle headlights, making the wearer more visible in darkness or low visibility conditions. These reflective elements help improve safety, especially when working near roads or in areas with moving machinery.

Compliance with Standards: Safety reflective vests should meet relevant safety standards established by organizations such as ANSI (American National Standards Institute) or EN ISO (European Committee for Standardization). Compliance ensures that the vests provide adequate visibility and meet safety requirements for the intended work environment.
